Runfa focuses on heavy plate — they can go all the way up to 200mm thick. Expect to pay around $2,380/ton spot, but you'll need to haggle based on your volume. The big selling point here is real mill traceability, which matters when dealing with cheap, unverified mystery metal. Get their sample MTRs upfront to check their ASTM compliance before signing anything.

You can hog this material out fast on a heavy mill — just make sure your fixturing is rock solid so you don't chatter. Standard stock sizes easily yield 4×8 or 5×10 blanks with minimal drop. If you need wider than 1500mm, you'll have to ask them about custom tooling.

Material Certs & QC

The chemistry hits the standard ASTM B209 spec. The plates ship dual-certified for both GB and ASTM markets. To make sure they don't accidentally ship you soft T4 or annealed O stock, have your receiving team check the stamped heat numbers against the paperwork. The shop is ISO 9001 and RoHS compliant, so customs won't block it.

Bending & Surface Finish

Don't try to bend this tight. Standard T6 will snap if you push the bend radius. Heads up: the faces come stamped with big, ugly factory stencils. If the parts are visual, write "no mill marks" on the PO — otherwise, you'll waste hours sanding and polishing them.

Machining & Where to Use It

Run a test part first to check for internal stress or potato-chipping — that will tell you if their heat treatment was actually done right. This stuff is perfect for structural welding, big trailer frames, and marine jobs. Think chassis rails, heavy machinery frames, and railcar builds. It works great for custom baseplates, welding fixtures, and assembly jigs where you need the plate to stay flat after removing a ton of material.
